John C. Dunn founded his own company Dunn Consulting Services in 2010, now FLOOR13, which specializes in supporting enterprises, small and big, private and public, in the travel, tourism, hospitality and events industries. His focus is on enhancing our client’s strategies and operational plans to increase profitability, manage growth and compete on the world market. John offers concrete solutions and analysis in sales, marketing, management, market feasibility and strategic planning for clients in North America, Europe, and Africa.

 

With 35 years in the hospitality and tourism business and having worked with the world’s leading industry brands, John brings a solutions-based approach to advising clients in achieving their goals in today’s highly competitive tourism market.   

 

John’s experience in the tourism and hospitality industry runs deep. He was formerly the Executive Vice President of Tourism Montreal, one of Canada’s leading DMOs. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Atlific Hotels, managing the Canadian hotel portfolios under several renowned brands, such as Marriott, IHG and Starwood.

 

John has been an active member of several industry boards and is presently Pass-President of AMCHAM - Quebec Chapter (American Chamber of Commerce in Canada), a director on the Tourism Industry Association of Canada, a director on the SEPAQ (Parks Quebec) and has past experience other industry boards such as;  The Canadian Hotel Association, The Destination Marketing Association of Canada, The Canadian Society of Association Executives – Quebec Chapter, Heritage Maritime Canada as well as acted as Chairman of the advisory committee of the light rail project, Pierre-Elliott Trudeau Airport to Downtown Montreal and was an industry adviser to the Canadian Tourism Commission.

 

John published his first book, “A Beginner’s Handbook for Hospitality Sales – Practical Tips and Advice for New Sales Executives”, which is available at Amazon.com in both hard-copy and electronic format.
